Those who are planted in the house of the Lord, shall flourish in the courts of our God. Psalm 92:13

The Sacrifice

wednesday, February 20, 2019

• Some of the biggest changes come from the smallest habits.

Acts 1:8

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Romans 12

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

• A living sacrifice

Hebrews 13

15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. 16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

• With Godly authority comes accountability.

• This isn’t “do as I say, not as I do”.

Philippians 4

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

We have to be examples of:

• overcoming

• beating the odds

• forgiving

• going the extra mile

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

RELATIONSHIP SERIES | WEEK 3

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2019

•    Who’s setting the ground rules?

•    What’s feeding your expectations?

•    Are you playing a game you can’t win?

Define the ground rules:

•     Authority - this is what has been delegated from God’s Promises

•     Priority - regarded as more important

•     Importance - significance and value

1. How do you keep your marriage a priority when you      have kids?

•    Come together as a “united front” with your spouse.

•    Don’t ever let them divide and conquer.

•    Have time together.

2. What are three things we must example to our kids?

•    Living God’s Word practically.

Ephesians 5:18

And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,

•    Your kids need to trust your personal relationship with God, you're led by the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 4

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ

16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

•    Disagree fairly.

Matthew 18

18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

•    Have fun - celebrate as much as you can - enjoy each other.

•    Your kids and wife are never your excuse. Cover them.

•    Don’t talk negatively or compromise your relationship to anyone about your spouse.

3. What’s the “one thing”?

•    99% of all the issues in life can be solved by not being selfish.

•    Sow God’s Promises thoroughly into your marriage.

•    Stay strong. Finish strong.

RELATIONSHIP SERIES | WEEK 2

sunday, february 10, 2019

• God comes first for us in everything.

• We each stand before the Lord for our lives and we stand collectively for our marriage.

• With what really matters, we are absolutely on the same page.

• There is hope.

Proverbs 13:12

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,

But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.

• When two people trust in the Lord with all their hearts, God directs their marriage.

Hebrews 6

11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

1. Celebrate

· Value and validate people

2. Generosity

3. We help people win, fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.

RELATIONSHIP SERIES | WEEK 1

• Who am I?

• Add value to your life.

• Why not you?

• Why not your marriage?

• Clarity and focus are vital to everything that matters in our lives.

Romans 11:29

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

1 Thessalonians 5

23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify (separate) you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

• God is faithful and will do it!

• The original contract/commitment/covenant doesn’t change.

•  Keep the promise!
